"Woman Elated"
This artistic theory includes the intrigue of the transformation
of the line from a single point through to form. The tension
between correct geometry and cubism, between real and not
really being possible. Void of all tradition yet every choice
is bound by classic considerations. How would the shadow fall,
what is the perspective, the balance, the poetic message of
the shapes, colors and icons, the materials, the execution
of technique, etc
The theory progresses again to where only shape and color
are expressing emotion. This concept is also rendered as one
of the Icon Series called "Woman Elated". Her design
is completely symmetrical and the forms are defined with a
single, unbroken line as it passes under, over and through
the forms created. It is exciting to know that the line that
forms the top of the thigh is the same line that defines the
underside of her arm. The dimple of her hip is the center
point of the X composition. The "chest and head"
are curved to receive the light broadly. A geometric expression
of elation.
